Community Message March 18th, 2020

After consulting with doctors and religious leaders from around the country and much deliberation, the administration of Masjid As-Sunnah in its best attempt to protect the members of the community, has decided to follow the recommendations of the Center for Disease Control (CDC) for religious institutions and mass gatherings. Therefore, we would like to inform the community of the following:

The Jumu’ah services are suspended until further notice. All members should pray at home Salaah Dhuhr as 4 Raka’aat.
The Saturday school and all related programs are suspended until further notice.
The Friday night program is suspended until further notice.
All lessons will be delivered through live stream ONLINE ONLY.
All community members are encouraged to pray their 5 daily prayers at home.
The masjid will be open for the daily prayers. However, everyone praying in the masjid MUST use a prayer rug, towel, or plastic to pray on. No one will be allowed to pray directly on the masjid carpet. The masjid has plastic for anyone who does not have a prayer rug of his/her own. In the event that the imam is not present then the congregation WILL NOT wait to establish the Salaah.

We will continue to monitor the situation and advise the community as we receive updates from government authorities. Please make du’a to Allah for our safety and well being.
